GPS Signal not coming back

I'm having a problem with the GPS Signal on my boost mobile i415.

First, my setup: Accutracking is running in the background, keypad is locked, device has great GPS signal and holds it very well even in the glove compartment or trunk of my car.

On the accutracking website, the GPS signal on my phone shows green with all bars, great signal. However, if the phone does lose a gps signal while, for example driving through a tunnel, once the phone is back outside it appears to have a VERY weak gps signal, as in the accutracking website shows the gps signal as one single red line, however it still updates with my newest locations, but with a weak gps signal image.

The GPS signal will continue to show has weak on the website UNTIL i take the phone and bring the accutracking app out of the background. as soon as i bring the app out of the background it shows 0 satilites, but then immediately starts rising. The very next website update shows full gps signal again, all green bars.

Im been doing various tests with this, keeping the phone in my pocket while going to walmart where it will lose a signal in the store, same problem when i come out of the store, signal keeps showing as weak on website until i open the accutracking app again.

Is this just a bug in the program or a real problem that will stop my tracking?

First I confirm this is a bug in earlier versions and got fixed since v3.2.9. Here is the change log showing the bug: viewtopic.php?t=71

Second, this bug won't affect tracking: your tracking would still working normal and you won't miss any GPS data because of this. It only gives an incorrect signal strength status online. So you can install the latest phone software or leave it there, the tracking will work fine.

How can I check if I have the latest version of accutracking... I just got the phone i415 8 days ago... so am I to acssume that the latest version is already on it?

You should have latest because the last change was in Dec 03, 2006. To check the version on your phone:
1) From the AccuTracking main screen, press the menu key on the phone keypad, you'll see a list of menus.
2) Scroll down to "About..." and press OK, the AccuTracking version will show there.

I just got my phone setup with the software about 5 days ago, so I definately have the newest version of accutracking. So maybe the bug is still present. Either way, thanks for the help AT! Glad to know it won't effect tracking :)

Thanks! I don't seem to be noticing any issues with the battery or cell signal when the app in suspended, only the GPS signal. And only after losing the GPS signal completely.

You are right that v3.2.9 only fixed the battery and cell signal but not the GPS signal.

Now the download link has been updated with the new v3.3.0 with the fix. Please follow the instruction here to upgrade.

Thank you very much for the feedback!
