Cell tower fix, low signal mode and auto interval functions

Post by mjbtx »

Cell tower fix, low signal mode and auto interval functions;
should they be marked as "on"; Nextel i415 phone with 12 vdc
power to the phone....so if hotfix enabled, power is not a problem.
Advantages vs disadvantages? Thanks......

When I 1st got the phone, the satellites would even pick-up with
the car parked in the garage.......now they don't. Also, after the
car has set in a certain location for awhile, it seems as though the
1 min send does not happen anymore and it's more like 5, 10, 20
minutes or more.....then when the car goes into motion, it takes
awhile, even w/GPS hot selected, for the satellites to re-establish
good sending.....

That option was there to help the phone send data out in really poor Nextel coverage area and phone would hang when sending. You don't need to enable this option unless your phone stuck in sending. The disadvantage of this option is that the data are cached not sent in real time.
