i730 can't connect problems also...

Post by cheapjeep »

I am also having recent problem with i730 taking a while to get fix and then finally getting a fix with lat long but failing with "cannot connect". I called Nextel and they checked from there end as to any outages in the Pacific Northwest and none were reported - all other features of the phone are working and text messages are arriving ok. I am suppicious of accutracking as my account was missing from there database and I had to sign up as new subscriber. There was no record of me and I have been using this account since december 2004. No subaccounts were existing either. I have tried everything all afternoon here and I did get one upload at some point but nothing on a regular basis. I have no idea at this point but suspect trouble at server from accutracking...

Looks like you don't have the Total Connect Plan.

The server has been working normally with no interruptions. Error message "cannot connect" is usually due to bad phone signals. You get drop calls or connections even though Nextel network is up 100%. I am not saying it's their fault, that's the nature of wireless phone networks.

As for the missing account, I think it was probably removed by our auto account expiration program by mistake. I appologize for this. More info about account expiration can be found in support page.

If the plan was just ordered, it usually takes a few days before it's actually activated by Nextel.
