I installed AccuTrack on my HTC Hero (android 1.5) and set it to send interval of 10min and checked smart send.
The covert version will not send data and the GPS icon continues to blink like it's trying to find a signal (even if I'm in the middle of a field). The GPS icon will never stop blinking.
I tried to non-covert version and it will only update IF I open google earth so that the GPS icon stops blinking and it actually finds my location. I then have to go back into accutrack and it will update the location and send it. Otherwise it also will not update automatically.
I know there are no other apps using the GPS and I have tried this on two different Heros (one being brand new) and get the same results.

Re: HTC Hero not sending data
Set the interval to 1 minute and try again. If that doesn't work, I'll get you an older version to try out. The latest version includes a change for battery saving and may have problems with some phone models.

As a test, you can install our previous version 3.4.3 from our website:
1. Uninstall the current AccuTracking
2. Go to Settings -> Manage Applications, then on the Application settings screen, select the Unknown Sources check box.
3. Use your phone browser to download http://mobile.accutracking.com/android/ ... g3.4.3.apk
4. Follow the prompt to install it.
Please let me know how it works.

Re: HTC Hero not sending data
I have tested the old version for a few days now. I have tried setting it for 1 min, and 5 min. sending intervals. Either way the GPS icon continues to flash (like it can't get a fix) and it MIGHT log my location once every hour.
example.. I set it for 1 min intervals and sat it on my dash for a 30 min drive down the highway. It reported my location ONLY when I initially turned it on and again about an hour later long after i reached my location.
Is there anything I could have set up wrong?

Re: HTC Hero not sending data
Definitely sounds not right... disable "Smart Sending", "Auto Interval", power cycle the phone and see if it helps.

Re: HTC Hero not sending data
I tried all of that and more, but the sending interval was still spotty. It would work for 20 minutes or so and then quit.
I'm guessing the power saving logic would turn off the GPS icon if the interval was larger than 2 minutes. This is the only way I would use this software is for covert use. This seems to be good product with some phones, but I'm not feeling it with the Hero.
Thanks for your help.
