Negative numbers

Post by Beauxman »

I am not getting any alerts when the phone crosses into or out of a set fence. I also notice that on the tracking map I am showing a negative 5000 ft for altitude and a negative longitude also.

Also when I set a fence and enter the lat and lon numbers manualy and hit save it loses the numbers after the decimal point, any ideas?

I'm not sure why the altitude is 5000 negative, but a negative longitude is perfectly normal, anyone west of GMT will have a negative longitude.

Are you seeing your current location on the map ok?

His question was about negative ALTITUDE - unless your under water - that is most likely caused by multi-path - or a reflected/obstructed signal.

Sometimes you see this if its mounted under a car - where your bouncing the GPS signal off the ground - or if its next to a building where its getting a reflected signal.

To see -5000 is rare though - but anything is possible. I guess it depends on how far the error is - and what your "normal" elevation is.
