Send interval not working as set

Post by cwi »

I am using am i450 with v 3.2.7, "Smart Sending" is on and I also have "Auto Interval" checked, at least I think it is on, because even through it has been checked, when I try to see if it is enabled it shows as unchecked. I digress....

I have set the send interval to "1" minute, and no matter if the applet is in suspend mode or foreground, and whether the car is moving or stationary, the sending interval is randomly updated within 1 minute, 5 minutes, 40 minutes, etc. unless i manually hit the refresh button. Is there another setting I need to know about?

The "Fixed" seems to be getting updated every minute, but it is not sent to the server.

The GPS fix is working on the "sending interval" setting. After each fix "smart sending" checks the current position with history ones and determines whether it's "not moving". But due to GPS signal drifting, the positions will appears discretely variable and trigger sending from time to time even if the phone stays still.

The problem is that when the car is moving the new position is not being sent to the server, so when you check on the web, it would still show the position the phone was the last time the data was sent to the server.

There is no problem with too many updates, but "not enough" updates, unless done with a manual refresh.

For the failed sending, it should say "sending...", then "cant connect", then "data cached" on the screen if it failed to send the data.
