stop and go setup

Post by geosheets »

Hello, fairly new to AT(about 5 days new)... I bought the ready to go i415 and have it setup OK. The one problem I see with it is, it will not send a signal once the unit has stopped. It is making it very difficult to tell the stops in a stop and go situation. It appears that the speed is average for distance traveled during the sample frame. I have the unit setup for hot GPS, and smart send, and 1 minute intervals. Even if the vehicle stops before the next signal was due to be sent it shows the last location only and not the current stopped position. Any way to setup sending data once a stopped position has been seen? I could certainly cut down the data sending rate if I had this information. Seems to me that there should be a setting for this but I certainly don't see it. If there isn't, perhaps it should be considered to be added. If I could set it that stops are reported, I could back off the regular sending rate to every 5 or 10 minutes.

The easy solution: disable the Smart Sending option. Then you'll see the stops.

I was trying not to be a server hog or have 30 million entries to search through. I may try it though to see.
