Does anyone know how to keep the i415 from Suspending the java app? Like when a "random" caller calls the unit?
Doesn’t Boost get it, I just want it for the GPS and the web service, they should allow you to turn off the voice side, to keep people from "randomly" calling your phone thinking that it is someone else’s.
Anyone have input or suggestion on this?
Thanks

i415 and suspending the java app
How to Prevent Incoming Calls from Suspending AccuTracking
I think I may have a solution to the problem of incoming calls suspending the AccuTracking java application.
SOLUTION: Set up Call Forwarding to forward incoming calls to a valid alternate phone number. (Home phone, office phone, favorite charity, local time and temperature phone number, etc.)
To do this, hit the Menu key, then the MORE key to get to second page of menu items, select Call Forward, enter the call forward phone number and hit OK. You will either get a message that Call Forward was set or it was unsuccessful. My other cell phone number did not work, but my office phone number did.
Any incoming phone calls will now be forwarded to the specified number. After setting up call forwarding, I started AccuTracking on my Boost phone, dialed my Boost phone number and I was immediately forwarded to my office voice mail! The Boost phone did not ring (obviously) and AccuTracking was not suspended. I also verified that Call Forward remains intact even if the Boost phone is powered OFF then ON (I did this twice).
Only additional testing will establish if this is a long-term solution. Call Forwarding, for example, may be automatically stopped after some period of time by Boost.
Try it, and let me know if it works for you.

It sounds like this may work for the "wrong" phone number part of the problem, although if I get enough wrong numbers dialed it may waste all of my boost credit sooner since the phone has to make a phone call for every wrong number. The other part of the problem is walkie talkie "chirps" which seems to do the same for the java apps. Good suggestion though.
I just spoke to boostmobile and the better way to try this is by forwarding all phone calls to your own voicemailbox automatically so the phone will never ring and you won't be charge for airtime. You go to menu and then voicemail and in the forward all field you have to plug in a number which will be provided by boost, its not your cell number but a different number which is provided by them after you give them your regular number. This is your individual mailbox ID number. You set it an Voila! no more wrong numbers interrupting java apps (accutracking). There is no way to turn off "Chirps" or the WT feature but they seem to be less of an issue on mine right now. I'm setting mine up today to test this.
Hope this helps.

My phone died again, even with the call forwarding in place and I don't see any chirps from WT. I guess this is in fact a java/firmware/phone/software issue that is unresolved at this time. Reliability wise its really low in the scale so don't plan on using the i415 or i450 which for what I have read is the problem for long periods of time without having to restart the phone. The annoying thing is that some times its 1 week sometimes 2 weeks and some times a couple of days, its not consistent.
We have been testing for the past week and so far so good with the premium version. (If you want to run the premium, it's downloadable at http://premium.accutracking.com, after logging in, click "Account" > "Download")
I think the free version will be updated this week.
