gps hidden from user
gps hidden from user
can the service be hidden from the person using the phone? so they do not know they r being tracked....and which phone is best suited for this purpose...that works now...
cant hide from user??!!
seems like a complete waste if it cant run hidden in the background!!!! Am I the only one that thinks this way??? this is key option to this device...
or /lack there of

The application will run in the background just fine. In fact there is a menu item just for this. However, that is not what you asked. You wanted something hidden from the user, which currently is a limitation of the phone, and not the software.
Who is it that you want to not know that they are being tracked?

phantom's request
I want to track my teenagers without them knowing and I have presonal and valid reasons for doing so. Now, is there a way to disable any tracking notifications on the phone? Can they be tracked without being aware that they are?
The validity of your reason does not change the reasons that you cant have Accutracking completely discreet.
IMHO They would probably find out anyhow.... Kids are smart.
You can autostart the application when the phone is turned ON. Why not just threaten the kids that if the tracking is turned off, there will be repercussions?

Company phone
Another use would be company phones. The hidden tracking should be added to company phones. The inability to add this feature for the owner of the phone (company) rather than the user (empoyee) is severe.
Accutracking Incognito
If you could name the application something different for those of us who want to be incognito that would also help. Maybe instead of calling it accutracking you could call it Account Monitoring System. Then if they happen upon it you can tell them to not mess around there because it could result in higher phone changes if they accidently changed something. I did it and it worked. I told them that accutracking was acutally an Account Tracking System. They now don't bother it (turn it off) because they don't want their changes to be any higher than they are going to be from phone calls. Just a thought!

Tracking Spouses
What phone can be use I have a motorola and with alltel. And would I need Online? Thanks for any input or for someone that is tracking spouses/boy or girlfriends. Thanks.

elsewhere i discussed things from a company standpoint, while i cant say anything from a parent standpoint, since i'm not a parent (yet), i can say from past experance as a teenager, that
1. when it comes to technology the kid will have the upper hand, period.
2. anything that signals to a kid that there is a lack of trust, will undermine any trust you espect to have with them.
Its always better to have your actions out in the open and allow for them to know and understand the reasons for them, then to try and be covert and slowly erode the trust you're trying to impress upon them.
as for the final question, it states quite clearly that this works on iDen phones (nextel/slinc in the states) only

Can't you just run in bckgrnd and tell user not to shut off?
Can't you just run the tracking function in bckgrnd and tell the phone's user not to shut the thing off? That would hide the function from them, basically, no?

Tracking without user knowing.
If you require a reasonably 'stealth' solution then NEXTEL MOBILE LOCATOR is the solution. When you decide you need to check up on your child... youlog on to the nextel website, select MOBILE LOCATOR, and it will tell you on a map where they are. The cost is $15 per month and works pretty well... but is manual query... you have to invoke it when you want to know .. it will not track automatically.
