If not what program can be used for free?

I think so as long as Nextel can give your boost i730 a Total Connect plan.

Boost is a pre-paid nextel. boostmobile.com Can these phones be used with the program if I am paying for wireless internet access per day?

Wireless Internet is not Total Connect. Ask Nextel explicitly if they can give your boost phone a Total Connect.

I got the Boost i730 to work with the virtual compass!
No working map visible online, though.
No online tracking at all.

Everything works fine on the Boost i730, except the send of course, as mentioned above.

What exactly is the difference between it using Total Connect and Wireless Web?

Will there ever be any upgrades or changes for it to support just Wireless Web for Boost Customers?

Mainly because this program will come in very handy for Search and Rescue Operations at the rescue squad, as the command post could monitor exactly where each team is and if that team has found the person or the team needs help.

Thanks.

The phone doesn't give Java apps access to wireless data, only network data, which is the Total Connect for.

Is there no way around that? Because there is no Total Connect for Boost Mobile.

you could get your boost phone unlocked, then you wouldn't have to buy another nextel phone and nothing for use of your boost phone.
