If I am relying on the cache (no 3g connection) and I power off the phone, is my cache saved, or is it lost?

I'm going to be going on a trip to turkey, and want to track the trip. I will be near a wifi base station every few days, but I'll have to replace the phone battery now and then. I want to know if the cache will be saved when I power off the phone.

It'll get lost when phone is powered off or AccuTracking is terminated.
