I recently wired my i290 directly to my car battery with the aux 12v charger. It seems to not be sending its signal on a regular basis. Sometimes every 2-3 minutes like clockwork then maybe not for a 1/2 hour. Also, i am not sure but it almost seems like it is not sending a signal while in motion. Any thoughts ? i do have it in a tupperware container strapped with duct tape & under the hood.

It will only send a report, if it has good GPS signal. And if its under the hood, and moving, thats challenging for the GPS. If it works in the back window just fine - then you know its a signal problem. You can also turn on "tower fix", and if it reports during your 30 min down time, then its for sure a poor GPS signal under the hood...
