Tracking w/Prepaid Phone in Canada?

I am in Alberta Canada and would like to have this using pay as you go? Has anyone done this and what phone would be compatable. As I believe Accutracking is used via a data plan, can pay as you go work? Think most pay as you go plans in Canada are talk only?
