loopt vs accutracking

i just got a i425 from best buy... i was wondering what the difference is between using boost loopt (a gps-enabled wireless network that automatically updates the locations of cell phones in your network) and AccuTracking...
i was going to use AccuTracking but i became curious of the "Where you At?" tagline on the packaging and on the i425 Boost phone's booklet... and then became a bit confused...
couldn't one just sign up for loopt and "see" where the phone is?
