Does anyone know for sure if the battery charger is sending 12 vdc to the battery? If so, I could just cut the home charger and utilize the plug and wire to tie into the 12 v battery of the vehicle.....

I thought I would ask before I plugged it in and smoked the unit...........

No, its NOT sending 12 VDC to the phone - its sending about 4.2 or so... Cut the wires, and yes, you will let the smoke out.
