I have a Motorola I870. Motorola Mobile Phone tools won't recognize it. It's a former Nextel phone. I have a Boost SIM in it. Do I need to load the Nextel Software that came in the box?

The OpenJAL program won't recognize it either. The instructions on the website don't say anything about having to install the phone onto the PC.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need other software or loader. OpenJAL and a USB data cable are all you need. Appears to be USB driver problem. OpenJAL contains the USB driver for the phone. You can also download and install the USB driver separately: http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/sup ... lation.jsp
If still won't work, try another PC.
