You can purchase a Boost phone - and then install the software over the air, or via USB cord...

They are sold out. Sorry!
We are not expecting more inventory any time soon.
You can buy a Motorola i412 or i296 from http://www.boostmobile.com and follow our installation guide to install our software yourself:

I don't have any problems purchasing the phone or installing the software. However, can anyone tell me with Boost if I am required to get any kind of contract, or pay a full-priced plan (about $50) to have the tracking service? Or will it still be just the $6-10/month for accutracking?

Boost is no contract; that charge though is separate from AccuTracking.

Get the Boost pay as you go - and you can have the cell service for less than $10 per month... Plus the AccuTracking fee. A pretty inexpensive way to go.
