Smart Sending bug? [FIXED]

Post by jnewell » Thu Apr 21, 2005 8:21 pm

I have Smart Sending unchecked so that I can get a point every minute, but the app is still appears to be using the Smart Sending algorithm. When the phone is stationary, no data is sent and the phone display shows "Smart Sending OK".

I've tried it several times, restarting the app and power-cycling the phone. Same behavior.

I'm running the 710 build on an i325 IS. I realize this isn't necessary a supported phone, but everything else seems to be working fine.

Settings: 1 minute interval, Smart Sending unchecked, Hot GPS unchecked.

Any thoughts?

If it shows "Smart Sending OK" even with smart sending disabled, it's not right. It's supposed to show "Sent OK" when SS disabled.

We'll check this.

Thanks. I'll try this on a 730 as well.

The 730 is also behaving as if Smart Sending is enabled. I'm running the latest released version of the MIDlet.

jnewell, this has been confirmed to be a bug in v2.0.1 for all phones. The fix has been applied to the new version 2.1 and can be downloaded from http://www.accutracking.com/downloads/beta/. v2.1 also includes the built-in message list and message MRU feature. It'll be moved to main download link if there's no more issues.

Thank you very much!

Great news. :D Thanks for the speedy turnaround. I'll get this loaded up on my 730 and 325 and let you know what I find.

Thanks again,

With 2.1 Beta for both the i730 and the i325 (running the i710 version), it looks like Smart Sending Off is working as expected. Also, Smart Sending On is working as well. (Never hurts to check...)

Thanks again!
