Need Some Help Please

Post by JohnBullard »

Have Boost i415 MMS enabled Have IDEN Webjal installed on laptop

Have the Accutracking jar and jad files unzipped and in a directory on laptop

Have webjal installed on laptop, can connect to internet and login

Webjal connects to phone.

Problem:

only the accutracking jad file loaded over, the jar file did not as far as I can tell.

Went ahead and loaded my tracking number in the phone, turned OFF Smartracking and set the phone outside for over an hour.

Looking at the phone display, see a lot of data corrupt errors, quite often the W corordinate will have 12 to 15 numbers after the decimal point.

Tried to send a msg (built in) to the server, get a data corrupt msg.

Nothing ever shows up on the tracking website.

If the jar file did not transfer, would that cause this problem?

If so, how do I, using Webjal transfer the jar file.

The load J2ME applications only sees the jad file, even though they are in the same directory?

during the install, watch it closely. it should install the jad you selected, followed by its associated jar file. the program will have a dialog box with a status bar filling up as the first part is loaded, then reset that status bar for the second part.

Thanks Ski and madrabbit.

I was thinking of doing a new install of the accutracking.

The directory icon for the jar file looks like a text file, but I'm sure it should be an exe.

When I get home this evening. I'll download and unzip and try again.

If that that doesn't work, I'll be back!! :o

Still need assistance with Boost i415

Post by JohnBullard »

Still no go. Deleted the accutracking files from my laptop. Downloaded and unzipped again.

The jad file is 1kb in size and is labeled AccuTracking.jad

The jar file looks like the old Icon did. It is labeled AccuTracking (notice no dot extension)

The second line and third lines say Executable Jar File and 22kb

Is this the way it should look?

Watched real close as Webjal reloaded my phone. Didn't see anything about a jar file.

In the Webjal right most window (Recently Downloaded Files) the only one listed is Accutracking.jad

Took the phone back outside, and some of the coordinates still have 15 - 18 decimal place numbers. Sometimes it's the N but most of the time it's the West.

Tracking 5 - 6 Sats each time.

Still get the corrupt data message.

Nothing on the tracking web site.

Could / would someone unzip the accutracking for the i415 and look at what extracts for the jar file, is it different from what I'm seeing? ie no dot jar extension?

If you have one with a dot jar extension, I would really appreciate if you could send it to me john at bullard dot org

Thanks
John

Update Saga Continues

Post by JohnBullard »

Sitting here frustrated, I played with Webjal some more, still trying to reload to the phone.

This time watching the transferr box, it did look like it was moving a jar file also, but still no jar listed in Recently Loaded Files, only the jad. Is this the way it should be?

I know nothing about jad and jar files, as you can tell.

Tonights efforts were reloading on top of last nights transferr.

Maybe I should delete accutracking from the phone and then load fresh?

How do do you delete an app from the phone?

(real newbie here !!)

Thanks

You need to uninstall from the phone as well before the reinstall.
