GPS not accesible - blackberry 8330

I have a blackberry 8330 on verizon firmware version 5.0.0.438. Whenever I run the tracking software i get the message 'GPS not accesible on this phone.' The refresh line keeps saying 'No Fix. Low GPS Signal.' Should the software work on this model phone? Is there some setting I need to change? I have set GPS to 'Location On' but is there anything else? Thank you!
