covert not refreshing location

I have accutracking on son phone covert and it sometimes go 16 hours before i am able to get a location. I am home now and know that she just left but It says the car is still in the driveway when I know its not...how do i ping the unit to refresh remotely so i can know where the unit is when I log on at any time?
