Update: this feature has been added. Just go to "Account" > "Download GPS History Data" and choose "KML" option when downloading the data.

Live KML Output?

Post by hutch109 » Sun Jun 03, 2007 3:15 pm

Its nice to get the history... But what about LIVE output of the KML for current tracking - similar to MapPoint... But the GE interface...

I'll second that. Having a link to a KML rather than an embedded Google map would let you view your position on your map configured your way.

Also, since Google Maps lets you display a KML file that has a URL you could put your position on a Google map that will also let you get directions, add additional bits via My Maps.

If I was being greedy, I'd want a link to a KML that was the latest point as well as last X points. Even with a small number such as the last 5-10 puts the last position in some sort of context.
