I don't see the support for BlackBerry will be any time soon. The main reason, I think, is that BB's SDK is quite different from iDEN SDK.

Its a shame, as i love the tracking feature, and it would of completed the BB7520 as the ultimate phone for me, so i guess i will carry both for now, BUT, if you decide to try to make the BB compataible please let me know asap, this is the best

I have started to try to get the different GPS programs to work on the 7520. I have the SDK and the java program from Sun.

I have found blackberryforums.com pretty helpful.

Also I would like to have you guys post the jad and jar without being zipped on this post so I can point my wap brower at it and see if it will load on to the phone. I have done some midi games this way and it has worked great. Even though some are not sized right.

I have taken my blackberry sim card out and put it into the i736 I have and have gotten the phone to show location, but am still waiting to see if it sends info to accutracking.com

It has sent info to http://findme.mapquest.com and to http://www.ulocate.com both of which I am beta testing in one form or another.

I have also used http://www.viamoto.com, but dumped that when they told me it would take until April to get it to work on an I860. I have have the 7520 since it came out.

What else, if you have questions, PM me.

The Handhelp OS upgrade for the 7520 is out now for Nextel users.
http://www.nextel.com/blackberry

click on software updates
get latest software
select handheld software 4.0 for 7520
download the new version (4.0.0319)

this enables the gps security settings and prepares it for GPS apps
also prepares the handheld for voice note applications.

lets see some 7520 GPS APPS!

RIM's Location API is exposed via JSR 179, the Java standard for location-based services. If you all are interested in modifying accutracking to work on a Blackberry, you will need the Blackberry JDE as well as the 4.01 JDE API Update

I would love to see this happen. Let me know if i can help.

Just a heads up, we are developing for BB 7520 & 7100i now. Expect coming out early 2006.

Willing to test

Post by fsager » Sat Jan 14, 2006 3:09 pm

Hi, I just got a 7100i and I was hoping this would already have worked on the BB :(

If there is a beta version available, I am willing to test it.

Thanks
