Announcement I860...

Post by nextelnutt »

I am sure you have heard the I860 came out 10-4-04 for Nextel that is.

Well I have loaded it into my I860 and it has worked great so far.

There is plenty of screen space left to put additional information.

The outside caller ID works, but not well. The information is chopped.

I think that has to do with a couple of things.

One, they type of screen it is and secondly, the dimensions of the screen.

My suggestion is to put the Longitude on the top line and the Latitude on the second line below it.

I will do more testing when I am out and about and let you know how it goes and how quick it responds to picking up a signal from the satelites.

What about having an option to display speed and heading information as well as time of last send on the external display? This would be more valuable for me over the lat/long information. Even for the I730 this would be a nice option.

Actually, for my own use what would be almost ideal on the external display for the I730 or the 860 would be heading, speed, number of sats that are visible, and current altitude. The rest of the information could be looked at on the internal display if needed.
Just something for the wish list and as always, thanks to the support staff for an outstanding product.

When you say you installed it? you mean the tracking SW? V2.0? If that be the case, was there a special trick to get in tinsstalled on a phonee with the wrong SW Version?

Thank iyou
