Skibum is correct 650 would be cold cranking amps, the reserve capacity of a car battery is around 100 amps. Accordind to the example you still would not have a problem with a hot wire to the battery.

I'm not sure about the 450 but the 415 standby time is rated at 75 hours and the most I got out of it with the standard batt running AT on smart send set at 5 minutes was 9 hours.

14. What's hot GPS? What's the drawbacks of hot GPS? With hot GPS, the software keeps GPS chipset from cooling down between fixes, thus keeps it 'hot', resulting in quicker position fixing. Hot GPS will drain more battery power (about 50% more). To change the hot GPS setting, on main AccuTracking sc...

I have been looking into the same problem, you can use a car charger cord to hook direct to power or to the cig lighter plug and if you want a more covert power source I have taken 2 1500mah extended batteries and piggybacked them together for about 2 days of power. With the big battery you can't us...

Thanks, I was hopeing I could wire it to an ignition source so it would turn on and off with the ignition I guess with the amount of batt draw it would not hurt to have it direct to constant power. Thanks again.

What I need is a way to have the phone power up and not go into charge mode when connected to a car charger hard wired into the cars electrical system.

Nextel Battery

Does anyone know what the biggest batt is for the i415? does not concern me if I can't use the cover. I have heard there is a 3000mah available but am unable to find one. Thanks,

Starting phone when hard wired to car?

Is there a way to start the program without pushing the on/off switch when hard wired to a car? When the car is turned on the phone initially goes into the charge mode and has to be manually turned on.
Or do I have to wire it someplace that is always hot? Thanks,
