I know of no other carrier that is planning to offer similar capabilities required to support a tracking solution like Accutracking. At least not for the next 6 months.
Of course anything's possible.

It's the TCP/IP network overhead. To open a TCP socket connection to a server, send a byte of data and close the connection results in almost 500 bytes of data used. That's the cold hard fact. Yes. I believe most of the 3 digit series phone (i7xx, i3xx, i8xx) support the ability to assign a Java app to run at power up.

I've used Accutracking and an i730 for over a year and I've had little to no problems with the GPS acquisition.
