settings-personalize-main menu-startup app-set to accutracking

menu, settings, advanced, airplane mode, off.

keep accutracking on.
set the phone to turn accutracking on startup.

as long as you have constant power to it, it wont be a problem

i got the information by pulling off the battery door and looking. LOL.

where is the phone located? mine is currently stashed by the spare tire, it has a rubber duck antenna on it, but it still doesnt get the gps chipset pointed to the sky, so its probably not relying on the gps as much as the network. how many bars of signal do you normally get? there is an external an...

so what do you think the problem was?

go to java apps, scroll to the right one, hit menu, hit deinstall

during the install, watch it closely. it should install the jad you selected, followed by its associated jar file. the program will have a dialog box with a status bar filling up as the first part is loaded, then reset that status bar for the second part.

make absolutly sure you entered in the tracking ID right.

also, if its a nextel, how long since you've ordered the data plan?

i use serial on my desktop. it may be slower, but its alot less buggy.

and when you're doing 20 units at once for a public safety customer, less buggy is good.

do you have a second phone to test it with?

i dont think there should be a problem using a telus phone rather then nextel

is there any java program running on the phone at all when you're trying to connect?
