Re: I29x

The cig. lighter charger is also 5 volts - standard USB output - the phone controls the charge status to the battery.

USB standard is like 500 mA - and its the charge amperage that controls the charge and use amount.

Re: I290

YOU SHOULD be able to take a properly working I290 plug it into a non switched 12v power outlet and it stay charged 100% while running the accutracking app. Yes, you SHOULD be able to, but not all Motorola phones work that way, so you WON'T be able to... In other words there is no immediate need to...

Re: I290

Yes I do have a solution for this, but I answer questions, weather a person is interested in our product or not - as knowledge is key. Service truck or a pole dancer, the GPS tracks the same... Yes, an inverter will still use power, even when the phone is charged - and in your case, there will be NO...

Re: I290

I was not removing anything from the equation - I was just stating that this combination of things is not real good. There are lots of variables that go in to play, and using an inverter will NOT solve your problem - only create new ones - like you said, by allowing to car battery to go dead... Seve...

Re: I290 sending intermittent report times

It will only send a report, if it has good GPS signal. And if its under the hood, and moving, thats challenging for the GPS. If it works in the back window just fine - then you know its a signal problem. You can also turn on "tower fix", and if it reports during your 30 min down time, then...

Re: question about hooking charger directly to car battery

Because the phone will only last about 8 hours without power, and when switched power comes back to life, it will not turn the phone back on - so it will never track again, until you go to the phone, and turn it back on.... And if you have it off for 5 hours, and drive for 15 minutes, then you still...

Re: question about hooking charger directly to car battery

Using a switched power outlet, will not work real well in your case. If you only have the choice of switched or constant power - go with constant power.

Re: I need a battery saver device

Our motion sensors work on battery operated phones - if you need to have it powered off the vehicle, you will need to wait a few more weeks for our new fleet device, that will work with AccuTracking, and always on power.

You can contact us for the motion installation.

There are several issues that can pop up, with iDEN phones, Motorola equipment, and "always on" USB connections. You are seeing one of them now...

Re: Battery Draw

Depends on the settings. The more you transmit, the more battery it takes. Keeping the GPS active on a phone, combined with 1 minute reports, and you can drain a full battery in less than 8 hours... Also depends on other variables such as distance to a tower, and many other factors.

Re: False recording?1trsdok

How far does it show its moving? When a GPS in inside, and there is poor GPS signal - the multi-path affect is much more noticable. Look at speed, altitude, and other readings - they are usually way off also - and also it can appear in straight lines from the point of origin. Also normal "wande...

No, not at this time. The application must be installed, and functional, prior to the theft.

Several of those restrictions are DOD (department of defense) restrctions. There are also limits for speed, acceleration, and vertical velocity. Also since most cell phones use "Assisted GPS", when they do not have cell signal, they also don't have the ability to update the "A-GPS&quo...
