Re: HotGPS and smart sending?
You also won't see much difference in battery life - as in getting more, based on sending interval and other options. You will however, see a big DROP, if you use HOT GPS to keep it active all the time - but I don't think the trade off will be worth it. Any longer life, you will need to use special ...

Yes they can, quite easily. Depending on your phone it may take a button push or two - but the Boost/Nextel JAVA phones its right there.

Re: Has anyone hard wired this to a Chevy Tahoe
You can put it anywhere you want, as long as the signal is there. The 3rd row is great since most of the time there are not even people in that area to "find it". Pulling power is the tougher part. Either get a motion unit that will extend the battery life - or start running your power lin...

Sure; theres lots you can do. If you don't want to go with a full motion unit; we can add a large capacity external battery and charger.

Re: Using alternate batteries w/i4XX's?
None of them. OEM only. The charging circuit is built into the phone - and its meant to charge a certain capacity. It also has a "microchip" on board to communicate status back to the phone. You will get an "Invalid Charger" or "Invalid Battery" message - and it will fa...

Re: Using alternate batteries w/i4XX's?
Sure you can; but you will need a whole new charger to use with them also - and if your only using 1 at a time you will be good - if your going to use more, you will need to match the cells and charge as a unit.

Re: PHONE IS IN THE TRUNK AND IT KEEPS FREEZING ON A LOCATION
Can you be more specific on "freezing"? What does the screen say when its not working? Does it ever work? Does it work when they stop and just not when they move? Is it battery powered? Is the battery charged up all the way?
Thanks

Re: i415 battery bad (bloated) can I run without battery?
The charging circuit will be wrong for NiCads - can could cause a fire.
The extra pins are feedback pins for the charge circuit. You will end up with an "incompatable charger" error - and the phone won't like it.

Re: i415 battery bad (bloated) can I run without battery?
Right, the charger does not produce enough power - to power the phone on its own. Its not a power supply - its a charger. The battery acts as a "float" to handle the power surge - caused by turning the transmitter on etc. The phone operates on 3.7 volts, if your going to try and power it o...

Re: i415 battery bad (bloated) can I run without battery?
No, the charger does not provide enough power, you will need to run it with the battery in.
Also the battery on a constant charge is bad also - as you have found out.
Your lucky all you had a was a "bloat" - and not a lithium ion explosion and ensuing fire...

Re: tracking only working when I click on Accutracking now
Its not the battery itself that makes it loose the settings - but the combination of the motion board, and a dead battery . The phone will keep the settings in memory when its off, or when you change the batteries. What happens is when your battery is low, low enough to allow the phone to power up -...

Re: tracking only working when I click on Accutracking now
It got off that setting by the battery being allowed to go dead.
Next time try and recharge it before it goes all the way dead.

Re: Reception Help
The only true way to know if there is something that is going to bother it - is to put it in there and try it out. Most electronics don't bother it too bad.
