I bet AT will make that change ASAP, and put the coords in RED on the mobile view... they are VERY receptive to changes!

Re: non-cell phone tracking?
Pretty much all things now use the cellular backbone to get the data back. There are other options, such as re-flex technology, and other radio based stuff. But they are not widely used due to the limited range.
Sorry.

Re: Battery and cold weather?
YES it does. Some batteries worse than others. Lithium batteries work the best in the cold - but once its below 20 or so - the battery chemistry will start to slow down - and has the chance of freezing. Other battery types go out much sooner. You can end up with a reduction of 60-90% of capacity - o...

Re: How do I find out if a tracking device has been put on car?
Depending on the type; as small as a pack of smokes, to as large as a lunch box - just depends on battery life, etc. If it has an external antenna - it can go anywhere, and then just an antenna - from the size of a grain of rice, to a quarter - would need to be visible towards the sky (for good sign...

Re: How do I find out if a tracking device has been put on car?
Then you can start by looking around the car, under the car, in the dash, behind the glove box area, under the seats etc. Also look for any strange wires, as most devices need power - unless they have an extended battery.

Re: How do I find out if a tracking device has been put on car?
Do you have a reason to be tracked? A good unit can be placed anywhere. You can start by using your eyes, and looking around for anything out of the ordinary. Under the car, under the seats, in the trunk, etc. With a remote antenna, the places are endless. Some covert installs can happen in under 5 ...

Re: World Travel
I seriously doubt that it would work in the below cabins - you can try the GPS - but I doubt it. Also, you need cell service to bring it back on - and the Boost option wont work - as iDEN does not really cover the high seas. Do you have an on-board cellular system? Or just satellite? If its just sat...

Re: Tracking History on Phone
The phone (tracker) does NOT locally store its location - once the location is acquired, it sends the data to the AccuTracking server - once its sent, its remove from memory. The only way to see the history, is to look at the website.

Re: Tracking History on Phone
The easiest way is through the website - you can also go to http://mobile.accutracking.com and see a few of the past locations - its a slow way to do it - and you really should use a big screen phone - like a smart phone - and not the Boost phone.

Re: Quick GeoFence setup
I think a better answer - to the question you asked - is YES you can. Your description indicates you would be at the place that you have never been to - and you want to set a fence when you get there - correct? Well, I guess its a yes, and a no... You can set a fence, and it will fill in the lat/lon...

Anytime the phone is "always on" you run the risk of lock-ups from power fluctuation, text messages, direct-connect, and/or stray phone calls...

No, you will need to have a Boost SIM in the phone for it to boot properly. The SIM however, does not need to be activated.

I have had no trouble with IE 6 or 7; running XP - all mapping is working great on this end.
