Re: This is not longer breaking news about PTel

Sorry! I understand it's annoying but we might keep it there for a few more days. Some users don't login or track regularly and they are not yet aware of the PTEL shutdown.

Re: H2O sim cards

The size are different. TK306A, TK103A, TK104 all take "standard" size.
Other than that there's no difference, the card marked as 4G is actually 2G/3G compatible as well,
so it also works with 2G trackers.

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

That's probably because lots of texts were used to configure the tracker. Text rate is $0.05/text. And if you do voice surveillance as well, the voice rate is $0.05/minute. Other than that, if you do tracking only, $10 is more than enough for 3 months because H2O data rate is $0.10/MB and the tracke...

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

You are right. No text is needed after initial configuration but you might need text for troubleshooting in case tracking stopped. Data is the only required plan for tracking to work. Our site doesn't rely on SMS therefore you can just pay $4/month for data and line fee. I've switched to US Mobile. ...

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

If your TK103A has a PTEL SIM, i.e. if you have a PTEL account, then yes you need a new SIM. Otherwise you are fine. I have a TK103A? Do I need a new SIM? (Tried to include a link, but it won't let me). They're offering a $75 credit which would make it a little more attractive. For a while, at least.

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

Ting has 2 types of SIM cards, GSM and CDMA. Their GSM SIM card will work with TK306A which is a GSM device. No need to reconfigure the tracker's APN setting. However, Ting's monthly plan is not so attractive. You'll need to go with their " Level S " plan for $12/month. What about the Ting service t...

Our trackers are set to be auto update at X minutes interval so it'll keep updating every X minutes when engine is ON. It goes to sleep when engine is off. So to answer your question, you'll need to keep the SIM card active with a data plan. Question about data usage. Trying to decide which one to b...

Re: Re how much data do these trackers use per month

For updates every minute and a few hours driving per day, it's around 10MB a month.

Re: One pin connector was bent, now broken, doesn't charge..

Hi, thanks for writing up. Don't worry, dad thing happens and we are very flexible on returns/replacments. Just return it to Amazon for refund and get a new TK272/TK273 now that PTEL is out of business anyway. Or if you like TK306A you can still return it for refund and buy a new one. None of our 3 ...

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

Don't worry, you won't lose the payment you made to us (AccuTracking). It's still in your account. Just get a H2O SIM card from Amazon for $0.01 and free shipping (use the link in above post), activate it and recharge $10, you should be good to go. Just yesterday, I paid $100 for the full year of se...

Re: Breaking News: PTEL Going Out of Business

Yes. When you activate the new TK37x managed tracker online, just click "I already have an AccuTracking account" and the new tracker will be added to your current account. After activation, just go to "Manage Units" of your account and delete the old tracker, the credit you already paid will be auto...
