The smart sending not only checks the postions but also on speed (triggered when > 2mph). Due to GPS signal drifting the coordinates and speed may fluctuate when the phone is not moving. That's why it triggered the sending even with the smart sending on.

The battery life are mostly affected by the sending interval (when querying the positions); smart sending will slightly affect battery (mostly saving data bandwidth). The 13 hour life is in the range of our test on i415 with 5 minutes interval.

I have an i415 set on Smart Send. The last report received it was sending data every 5 minutes - whether the vehicle was in a stationary position or not.

The vehicle was at the same location for approximately 25 minutes. I did notice that the coordinates vary slightly. Is this because it is picking up additional satellites, therefore different coordinates reported, and causing it to report every 5 minutes? Is this a correct report for Smart Send?

Also, I place the phone in the vehicle, turned on, around 11pm by 1pm (approximately 13 hours) the next day the battery is completely run down. Shouldn't the charge last longer than 13 hours, set on Smart Send and it is in a stationary position for 11 of the 13 hours?
