The # of satellites and location do not change (although I have moved it in/outside where GPS signals fail to reach the unit). I've tried to restart things and it just doesn't work. This is on an XV6800 with WM6.1 and all available online updates from Microsoft. I have a 2nd phone that I'll try it on and report back.

The "interrupted by phone calls" issue is due to the data transmission takes place on the voice channel on cell network, hence "shared". Unless you have a 3G device within 3G coverage, there'll be always this issue.

If it hangs, the AccuTracking screen would not update with the satellite and status info. Does the status line say "Sending" & "Sent TIMESTAMP" etc? Is the Lat/Lon on screen changing?

Running in the background is fine. If it's interrupted by phone calls, that's not ok. I'd like this just to be started and stay operating.

As far as problems:

I've been able to get a single message to reach Accutracking on an XV6800 and not one since. The application shows 6 satellites but nothing is reaching the servers. (it appears hung) The ID is correct and there is only a Garmin GPS software application that's on the phone. (which is not in use when Accutracking is but works just fine) I've restarted the XV6800 and Accutrack repeatedly with the same results.

Not sure what to do aside from find another solution.

"Running in background" is a separate issue than being "covert", which means hidden and user cannot see or switch to it and bring it back to foreground.

Yes AccuTracking can be running in background on all supported phones. Your "not reporting" issue is caused by other reasons (sky view, coverage...). Please see here:

Is this even possible from a programmer's prospective?

I don't think so... :|

Can Accutracking be run covertly in WM phones, I searched and read once that it is not covert, but just wanted to verify no one has found a registry hack or a work around for it just to run in the back ground
