You don't have to upgrade the phone firmware. However if you feel confident doing that yourself without damaging the phone, new firmware may perform better, or with less bugs.

Thank you for all your help Just one more question before I try this Do I have to up grade the firmware too? Thanks

You can choose upgrading over the old one. Just follow the instructions on the installation guide to load the software onto the phone, then before starting AccuTracking on the phone, do the following:
1) Press the "menu" key on the phone keypad, then "Java Apps", move the cursor to "AccuTracking", don't press OK (i.e. don't run it, just highlight it).
2) Press the "menu" key again, there'll be a screen saying "Update/Remove Update/Deinstall", choose "Update" there and you'll get upgraded to the new version.

Hello Again
I went to the site on installation but it all looks like its for new install. I already have the accutracking program on my phone. Does the up grade load over the old one? Or do you have to remove the old and start from scratch to upgrade. Sorry I'm not getting this I just don't want to ruin what I do have working right now Thanks for your help

Hello
You say to update to the lastest version. I am not totally sure of how to do this. Do I download the program to my computer and then install to my phone? I don't want to ruin what use I have now by doing something wrong. Like does it load over the older version? I didn't see any instructions on how to do this. Thanks

"No fix" usually means the phone needs a better view of the sky but in your case you already have 9 satellites in view, so I don't think it's the view problem. It's either the phone GPS chipset related problem or the satellites view are not stable (was the number of satellites up and down a lot?). You can try the following:
1) Try to hold the phone in one place while it's fixing;
2) Master reset your phone;
3) Upgrade to the latest AccuTracking software (v3.2.8 );
4) If possible update your phone firmware (http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/sup ... ility.html) WARNING: be very careful doing this as it may damage your phone and make it unusable if things go wrong during updating.

BTW, the "reset every 2 weeks" problem was addressed in v3.2.6 and later so try the latest version and see if it helps.

I have been using the accutracking for about 2 yrs now.I have resolved to the program stopping its tracking about every 2 weeks and having to reset and that seemed to be the only problem I had.But now I can get 9 satelites and then a message that says no fix.At my accutracking account it says it hasen't tracked for about 16 days. Can anyone tell me what No Fix means? And is there any updates to the accutracking program? Thanks for any help. Lkatt
