Thanks for the verification. I'm working with Nextel to see what needs to be done to get it working. I'll post again when I have an answer. I suspect the phone just needs to be set to allow it, indicating that the phone has "opt'ed in" to international data roaming so that it can be billed.

I know the data service does NOT work across border. You might need the "data roaming" service, if they provide.

Hi,

Does anyone know if the data service will work on a Nextel phone that is taken across the border to Canada? Does the phone need to be provisioned ahead of time to allow international data roaming?
I tried calling Sprint, but the phone tree eventually dumped me to "The number you are calling is not a valid Sprint phone number." Seems like they aren't too interested in letting me upgrade my rate plan...
