Zero also means the speed data is not available during the GPS fix. For non-zero values, it's quite accurate.

well this is what i see when my unit sends out the speed is mostly zero... but i know its moving because the car is on the highway...

It's quite accurate. If you have the phone with you when driving, you can compare the phone screen reading with the odometer, they are about the same.

Again... I have found it accurate. Your mileage may vary. Perhaps support can comment?

Thanks, my son was going 80 then this morning, and he has some "splaining to do". I want to be sure if I get on his back, the speed readout is accurate.

I have found the speed to be pretty accurate.
It only reflects the speed at the time of the data send, and not the max speed travelled.

I know when I travel to Vermont skiing, and go and look at the log, you can clearly see where I was "over 65"

Here is one I found from last month:

Apr 12 2006 10:20:03 AM -73.10959, 41.82366 675 65 N (65 MPH)

(Except I was doing EXACTLY the speed limit... lol)

Speed (MPH) Accuracy

Can anyone tell me how accurate, in general, the speed (mph) is?
This system is for keeping tabs on teenagers, and if they break the speed limit, according to Accutracking, it has to be reasonably close or I can not call them on it. I realize altitude can be way off, and location can be within hundreds of feet, but speed has to be more accurate. Also, how is speed measured? Is it simply distance between GPS fixes measured over the time period?
