I had the same problem:
i415 would get gps reading but when attempting to send data it would time out and state that "cannot connect".
I called Boost (call 1) and advised that I believed my phone's data servce was not connected. The lady checked it and all was ok. Then I kept trying different things, nothing changed the pattern. Called Boost (call 2) and advised that I was still unable to connect sending gps data. She reassured me that the service was installed and advised me to wait about 10 min and try again

Called Boost (call 3) talked to Jose, he said that he will try and do "some things" that may help. He told me to turn the phone off, he then in the background hit some buttons (took about 3 min) and then told me to turn the phone back on. I did, Jose advised to do a "master reset", turn the phone off, and wait 5 min before power back up. I did as instructed, and problem solved. What he did, I have no idea - maybe one of you do?
