no, thats perfectly fine. it allows the program to run while the phone functions are still used.
Three tips for you
1. call boost and tell them you want the web disabled (but still want MMS, thats MMS, not SMS) That saves you the .20 a day with no effect on functionality of packet data.
2. On the phone, you can set it so that accutracking will be activated on power-on automatically. This could be useful if the phone gets turned off. As long as the kids know how to turn it back on, the program will auto-load. I dont have a phone in front of me, but i think its something like menu-personalize-menu options-powerup app (its the last option)
3. Geofences are going to be your friend in this application, learn how to use them, and fiddle with them a bit.
