I don't completely unerstand what switch they use but the units I have seen turn on when the batt is installed and turn off after no movement is detected for a short period of time.
When the unit detects movement the unit turns on and starts transmitting.
If anyone knows what switch is used and how to install please let me know.

I understand that part... what I don't understand is how a mercury switch will tell you if the car is being used? A mercury switch only registers tilt, not movement, and it is a momentaty type of switch.

The switch is wired to the phones on/off switch terminals and replaces the original switch.

When the vehicle is stationary the tracker is off to conserve batt power and when the vihicle moves the mercury switch turns the unit on.
They are good to use when hard wiring isn't possible.

OK... I'm just not sure how a mercury switch is going to do that.

The mercury switch turns the phone on when it detects movement and off when stationary prolonging batt life.

I am going to place an order for the starter kit when will I be able to register? (reg is disabled now)
If I don't use the phone every day will I be charged .20 per day when not in use and how long are the cards good for? Thanks

Does anyone know where I can purchase a mercury switch and have it installed?
