Come on back buddy it's only a little under $5 a month with the yearly plan.
(59.00 per year) Cancell 1 starbucks break per month and it pays for your service.

The WM5 version and BB version are only available to paid accounts (which have 10 digit IDs). Just go ahead and register a new account (your free account was on a separate system). I see you ordered a BT GPS but as a warning, this might not work for all WM5 phones, as you can see from the step 11 in section 1.2) of the installation guide. Case by case depending on the manufacture and carrier. But if you do make it work, please post back. :)

OK... First issue

I cannot enter my tracker ID.
The field seems to be limited to 10 digits and my ID is 12.

Also I cannot login to my account from the homepage to generate a new tracker ID. It says that I don't exist... lol

AWESOME!

Maybe I'll be back!! :)
I'm ordering a BT GPS unit as soon as the stores open in California.
(Unless you have a good suggestion on where to purchase)

Thanks. 8)

It's possible for AccuTracking to work with an external bluetooth GPS receiver on Windows Mobile 5. Please see here for how to config the GPS:

OK... New approach.. If you're still listening.. :)

I dumped the V9m Moto for a Windows Mobile based phone.
What is the possibility of location with accutracking when using an external GPS receiver?

I was thinking of either a regular email to Accutracking containing location info, or better yet a full j2me application that would do everything, and send data directly.

Comments?

I don't think one application on the phone can access data of another out of house application.

You know.. I'm looking at the included tracking application from Sprint. They offer a compass page that lists your coordinates. Any chance of scraping the information from there?

by Skibum » Tue Nov 06, 2007 6:23 pm

That is indeed too bad. :(

I really hope the situation will change in the future.

Thank you for the support and valuable feedbacks like web stickers in the many years past. It's indeed very sad to see you leaving.

Sprint phones have the GPS but it's hard for small 3rd-party companies to develop for them due to their different distribution model (than Nextel). All GPS applications need to be signed and approved by them to access the GPS info. To do that, the 3rd-party companies need to enter a "partnership" with them first, and they only partner with big names (Telenav is one). There are many discussions online about this if you are interested.

Hopefully that *would* change in the future when the more voices are heard but according to their response there is no such plan yet. But do check back here often as we might add other carriers when possible!

Thanks Accutracking!

After many years of fantastic service from Accutracking I'm afraid that I have to leave. :(

My phone is just too old, and nothing Nextel offers is even close to exciting. I truly hope that you can get something worked out for Sprint users with GPS on their phone. I have a new V9m and I'm loving every aspect of it, with the exception of loosing the ability to track.

As always I'm happy to help you guys with any testing that I can.
It sure seems like something could be worked out as services like Telenav work.

All the best.

Skibum
